Cascais Plaza in Sausalito — Praça de Cascais
(In front of the forner Bank of America building)
750 Bridgeway, Sausalito CA 94965
(Scroll down for map)
Neighborhood: Downtown & Ferry Pier. Rest rooms are adjacent to northern edge of the plaza. Major city parking lots surround this area.
Located in downtown Sausalito, Cascais Plaza is owned by the city, after the plaza and adjacent building were bought from Bank of America after the closing of the local branch. The plaza is now the home of many Sausalito public events.
The creation of Cascais Plaza dates back to 2018, and has its routes in the Sausalito Sister Cities program, which ties our town to Vina del Mar, Chile; Sakaide, Japan; and Cascais, a coastal city of about 210,000 near Lisbon. The traditional Portuguese Calçada mosaic at the Praça de Cascais was created by visiting Portuguese craftspeople as a gift to Sausalito from Cascais, and the Prime Minister of Portugal attended its unveiling.
