Sausalito Gourmet Deli
No, people in Sausalito don’t argue about the Giants and the A’s. Here the never-ending local debate is which local deli is the best? You probably won’t be surprised to hear that every neighborhood has its own favorite. A lot of people will swear by Sausalito Gourmet Deli, a Greek place tucked into the base of a small retail building on Caledonia St. just north of Downtown.
There’s one argument where Sausalito Gourmet Deli wins easily: best deli dining patio. In addition to pleasant service and nice sandwiches, they have a beautiful shady outdoor patio in back that is a great place to have lunch on a nice day. There are tables inside as well, and they have an extensive selection of wines by the bottle as well as the usual soft drinks, juice and water.
Insiders Tip: If you’re in a rush on the weekend you may want to try a different place. As with other small businesses, on beautiful summer weekend days the Sausalito Gourmet Deli lunchtime line can move slowly… though that back patio is sure worth waiting for!
