The Bump Bar
California Caviar Co. is headquartered in Sausalito, and after they opened a tasting room they named it The Bump Bar.
As of this writing they are open Thursday-Sunday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM during the summer. On Thursday, Friday and Sunday they accept both reservations and walk-ins, although reservations receive priority. On Saturday you must make reservations to go, and those reservations need to be made at least three days in advance.
The Bump Bar also has special 10-course tasting menu events, with dishes from respected chef Lance Dillard. See their website for dates and times for these special events.
Confession: The restaurant pages on this site usually include detailed comments on my experience with their cuisine, and I’ve eaten at almost every dining spot in Sausalito. I have had caviar only a handful of times in my life at special events or (once) when we were upgraded to First Class on a plane flight. Although I enjoy it, frankly, the price of caviar is such that we never buy it to take home or order it at restaurants. My lack of comments on The Bump Bar in no way reflects on them — it just reflects the fact that I’m not qualified to comment due to my lack of experience and expertise.
