San Francisco GGNRA Golden Gate View Areas
[This page is under construction]
ALERT: CLIFF-TOP AND ROCKY SHORE LOCATIONS. USE EXTREME CARE IF YOU VISIT SPOTS WHERE THERE IS NOT A CLEARLY DEFINED SAFE AREA WITH RAILINGS.

.
Several of the GGNRA areas with Golden Gate view areas on cliff-tops and coastal areas in San Francisco have been developed with benches and railings, and are safe and easy for families to access and enjoy.
Unfortunately, many visitors go beyond railings, fences and barricades in an attempt to see tidepools at the shore or to climb down deer-trails on cliffs, producing major injuries and deaths each year. On a walk this morning I watched two people risk serious injury or death to reach some small tidepools that were no different from others easily accessible nearby.
One of the Best Views in San Francisco
and vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge.
