Headlands Center for the Arts, located in the GGNRA’s old Fort Barry area adjacent to Sausalito, is a non-profit art gallery, with studio spaces for working artists, housed in a series of restored century-old army buildings once used as part of the defense of San Francisco Bay. Artists, writers, videographers and other creatives apply in a competitive process to be accepted to work on site and collaborate with other artists, and some fellowships are also awarded.
