ICB Artists Present Milestone 1929 Film April 21

The film is considered a milestone in cinema history because of the range of cinematic techniques Vertov invents, uses or enhances, including double exposure, fast motion, slow motion, freeze frames, jump cuts, split screens, Dutch angles, extreme close-ups, tracking shots, footage played backwards, animations, and a self-reflecting style (at one point it features a split screen tracking shot; the sides have opposite Dutch angles).
In 1996 a new musical score was composed the 1929 ground-breaking silent film, and this soundtrack will be a part of this screening.
