The Bay Area Discovery Museum's fundraising gala this year is a whimsical underwater garden by the Bay. Appropriately, the music for this cephalopod's garden will be provided by The Sun Kings, a Beatles cover band. We happen to have heard these guys perform, and they put on a fun, high energy show and can do the obscure requests as well as the usual ones.
The evening will start out with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, and the silent auction packages are conveniently themed for Mother's Day. Dinner will be a feast by Paula LeDuc, along with a live auction, and dancing to the aforementioned The Sun Kings.
Proceeds from "Playdate 2010: An Evening by the Cove" support the Museum’s innovative hands-on exhibits and expert-guided workshops in the arts and sciences. Even more importantly, the funds support the Museum's outreach programs for children and families in under-served communities, where the need for this kind of hands-on and inspiring education is the greatest.
