Sausalito Family Restaurants for Dining With the Kids
When you’re dining with the kids the definition of a “good restaurant” changes. It can’t be too fancy, they need to have some healthy menu choices in smaller portions, and prices matter with more people at the table. Here are some good choices for when you’re dining with children, although there are many more options than the ones we’ve listed here.
Anchorage 5 (Diner, also has Mexican dishes) This place is a local favorite, with both traditional diner fare and Mexican food, and is definitely kid-friendly.
Caffe DiVino (Italian, Music) Their lunch menu has some less expensive items and the casual venue works with kids.
Dario’s Pizza (Pizza) Their seating area is kid friendly.
Equator Coffee (Coffee House) Very easy-going spot for families
Firehouse Coffee & Tea (Coffee House) Like a livingroom inside, great patio out back.
Fish and Chips of Sausalito (Fast Food) Take your food, walk two blocks to the park by the water and enjoy!
Hamburgers (Flame-grilled burgers) Kids of all ages will love watching their food cook on the rotating grill in the front window, and the park across the street is just one of several great places to sit and eat within a block of this narrow gem.
Kitti’s Place (Pan-Asian) Friendly place primarily visited by local residents.
Lappert’s Ice Cream (Ice Cream) ‘Nuff said. The son and grandson of the original founder of Lappert’s run this small regional chain of shops.
Lighthouse Diner (Breakfast & lunch only) Great spot for breakfast with the family.
Salsalito Taco Shop (Mexican) Informal outdoor seating, Mexican food.
Sartaj India Cafe (Indian) Friendly place, popular with local residents.
Sausalito Gourmet Deli (Deli) They have a great shady patio out back that’s a nice place to sit for lunch.
The Trident (Seafood, Bay Views) If you want a great view and don’t mind spending a little more, this is a kid-friendly spot.
Venice Gourmet Deli (Deli) After you get your sandwiches just walk across the street and you’re standing at the edge of the Bay, with a few benches along the shore. They also have a handful of sidewalk tables.
