The latest mega-yacht visitor to the deep water anchoring spots off the Bridgeway Promenade in Sausalito is the Tamsen, a 171-foot long super-yacht. The shot above was taken from an editor's deck in the early morning overcast.
The Tamsen is a full 12 feet shorter than Larry Ellision's Zenji, which was moored in a similar spot just a few weeks ago. The owner is an executive named Steve Firestone, we have video of the vessel below and you can read about Firestone and the yacht here. It was built in Italy at the Perini Shipyards, where the yachts apparently cost abpout $21,000 per inch of length. Yes, we said "inch."
Update: Late this morning the Tamsen moved from the Bridgeway Promenade up to the Schoonmaker Yacht Harbor, where it is currently anchored.
In 2009 we were fascinated by the arrival of the Attessa, where we were the ones to identify the mysterious vessel. Last year the big visitor was the bizarre "A" of a Russian billionaire. We find the tall ships style of this summer's visitors to be far more graceful additions to our views!
