768 Bridgeway, Sausalito CA 94965 (See map below)
Neighborhood: Downtown and Ferry Pier
Sausalito has large public restrooms that are open during daylight hours seven days a week. They are brand new, and are kept very clean.
The restroom building is located on Bridgeway (the city’s main street) in the heart of downtown Sausalito, about one block from the ferry pier, next to the Bank of America. The building entrances are around the corner on the right hand side of the view in this photo.
Safety and security is not a major issue in downtown Sausalito, though you always want to use caution everywhere you go in the world at night. In that context, these rest rooms are located next to a bank in a highly visible area so security is especially good.
These modern new bathrooms replaced older ones that were located in a portable building. Let’s just say that the new ones are much better and leave it at that! We will leave the chance to make all the “brick house” jokes to you if you wish to do so.
Whether you call them bathrooms, rest rooms, the WC or something a little less formal, every city where walking is the preferred mode of transportation ought to have them.
Note: The official address on the front of the building is 768 Bridgeway, but Google Maps draws it on the wrong spot on the map for that address. We have listed it at 754 Bridgeway for Google below because that generates an accurate map.
