Blue and Gold Sausalito Ferry Service to Return Friday, June 25
Blue and Gold Sausalito Ferry service from San Francisco (shown above) is resuming. Sausalito ferries running from Pier 41 at Fisherman’s Wharf will resume late next week on June 25, 2021, according to updates posted today on their website.
No schedule information on the number of daily ferries between San Francisco and Sausalito and departure times is yet available. Installation of the repaired landing float after repairs at a shipyard in Alameda began on June 14, and is continuing.
This announcements foreshadows the end of a Sausalito Ferry shutdown for emergency dock repairs that began in early March and was supposed to last about 60 days, but instead will stretch to over 100 days of inactivity. Golden Gate Ferry controls the Sausalito facilities and ordered the repairs, replacing ferry service with a Route 96 bus bridge that offered one round trip each morning and another each afternoon, but no mid-day or evening service. Blue and Gold Sausalito ferries also had to shut down due to the repairs.
