Free Sausalito Library Excel Classes June 3 – July 1
If you have family members who want to learn about computers but haven't known where to start, this is a great program.
The Sausalito Library offers free computer classes each month, and it's a great way to learn to use a computer. People who may have not had the chance to take these kinds of classes can get up to speed quite quickly on the basics, and seniors are encouraged to participate. Classes are offered at various levels.
Over the next few weeks a two part Excel class is being offered. Space is limited and you do need to call the library to reserve a spot — the number is 415-289-4121.
Sessions are held from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM in the Edgewater Seniors Room at City Hall, 420 Litho St. in Sausalito. Here's the schedule:
June 3: Beginning Microsoft Excel. Prerequisites: Comfortable working on a computer and navigating with a mouse or touchpad. Being comfortable with Microsoft Word will help with this class but is not required. Once you get the hang of it, Excel is very easy to use and extremely handy.
July 1: Advanced Beginning Excel. Class two will expand on the prior session and then work with formatting cells: alignment, fonts, number (dates, decimal places, etc.), patterns, colors and borders. The class will also cover sorting, multiple sheets within a file, and formatting the printed page.
This is a great program and we think the Sausalito Library should be applauded for offering these free classes.
Google Map Instructions: Use the "+" and "-" buttons to zoom in and out, the arrow keys to scroll the map, and the SAT button to see the satellite view.
