If you live in the southern half of Sausalito, you’ll want to know that Caltrans has announced nighttime closures of the southbound Highway 101 off-ramp at Spencer Avenue in Sausalito and the two adjacent freeway lanes on Friday September 27, 2024 and Saturday, September 28. 2024. During the closure hours the two far-right lanes on southbound Highway 101 near Spencer Ave. will be closed, although at least two lanes will remain open for traffic.
The southbound Spencer Avenue bus stop will be closed during construction hours, but the Spencer Avenue Park and Ride will remain accessible from the northbound side.
The project team will be working on the offramp, doing drilling and electrical work as part of a plan to move and upgrade the “Spencer Avenue” sign and its structure.
Specific times when the Spencer offramp will be affected:
- The off-ramp will be closed from 7:00 PM on the evening of Friday, September 27, until 7:00 AM the next morning, Saturday September 28.
- The work will resume at 7:00 PM on Saturday, September 28, and continue until 7:00 AM on Sunday, September 29.
If you pass the Spencer Ave. southbound ramp your the last opportunity to exit Highway 101 before crossing the Golden Gate Bridge (and paying the toll!) is at the Alexander Avenue off-ramp (see map below). From there you can re-enter Highway 101 going north and exit at the northbound Spencer Ave. ramp, which remains open.
