Each year since 1980 the Galilee Harbor cooperative liveaboard affordable-housing community has hosted this event. with free boat rides, demos of traditional boat-building methods, a marine flea market and floating home tours (not to be confused with the separate Annual Sausalito Floatring Homes Tour).
This year’s events will highlight the past and present creatives of Galilee, which include painters, writers, shipwrights, musicians, and sailors.
The event is sponsored by the, Richardson’s Bay Maritime Association and Lagunitas Brewing Company.
The Arques School of Traditional Boatbuilding will demonstrate their work, and an historic felucca and a Monterey from the San Francisco’s Maritime Museum will be open for visits..
The S/V Santa Carodon and Spaulding Wooden Boat Center’s M/V Dixie will be taking out visitors for free boat rides.
You can also see a great blue heron (who also likes to visit the rocks near our office a few blocks to the north!) and fellow egrets in the adjacent Mono Street marsh.
Galilee Harbor Community Association is a non-profit, cooperative, maritime neighborhood dedicated to continuing the maritime arts and skills while providing affordable floating housing on the Sausalito waterfront.
