We've been reporting this week that the realignment of the Golden Gate Bridge northbound approach lanes has surprised some drivers, and that even Muni buses have been making illegal turns when they missed the new, earlier temporary off-ramp.
KPIX Channel 5 captured video of a Muni bus doing just that on one of their news shoots from the toll plaza, with the reporter talking in the foreground as it happens. (It's the second video in the left column as you scroll down the page.)
In another video from the same shoot (the first video in the left column), a Prius driver attempts the same move after a minivan successfully crosses the roadway illegally, and is hit by an identical Prius and spun around, blocking the roadway.
We hope this story will help prevent people from trying this dangerous move. This alignment is temporary and will only be in place for about a month.
