We usually like to spice up our articles with a few one liners, but the City of Sausalito has beaten us to it with their announcement of an “eggciting” event this Easter Weekend.
Despite his obviously busy schedule the Easter Bunny will once again attend the event. This is another advantage of Sausalito’s natural beauty and our ability to attract big celebrities.
The action starts at 10:00 AM Saturday with an Easter Parade down Caledonia St., and the rest of the fun unfolds at Dunphy Park, where the kids’ Easter Egg Hunt will take place.
After the Easter Egg Hunt for the little ones legendary local children’s musician Tim Cain (who also was an original member of the seminal San Francisco Rock band The Sons of Champlin and has played on the same bill with Santana, Jefferson Airplane and The Band) will play a set for kids.
The formal event concludes with an Easter Bonnet Contest judged by members of the Sausalito Woman’s Club. Wild, crazy and unusual bonnets (and their wearers) are urged to join in with those who expect to find that you’re in the rotogravure.
Bravo to the City of Sausalito and its Park and Rec Dept. for taking the time to put on events for kids and families, which add to the already pretty darn great quality of life here.
Note: The Google map below shows multiple routes (trying too hard to be helpful) but the parade itself follows Caledonia St.
