Note: The vessel is no longer anchored off Sausalito, but (as of Sept. 1) can be seen at anchor from the Embarcadero in San Francisco at the foot of Battery St. behind the America’s Cup Pavilion near Pier 33.
Who owns the big yacht anchored off the Sausalito waterfront?
Sharp-eyed local artist and photographer Evaristo Buendia caught this late afternoon shot of Larry Ellison’s huge mega-yacht Musashi (named after the most famous of all samurai, Miyamoto Musashi) in San Franciosco Bay off the coast of Sausalito. It is the 48th largest private yacht in the world.
Since America’s Cup races start this weekend we presume this is part of Ellison’s preparation to observe the events with guests. The vessel can host 18 people, who are served by a crew of 23.
Of course, maybe he’s just here to see Sausalito’s 4th of July Fireworks!
