Real Estate Sign Ignites Passions of the Would-be Bottom-Feeders
The Internet bloomed with interest yesterday when photos of this real estate sign in Sausalito started to make the rounds. Investors salivated openly at the idea of picking up a Sausalito property for a bargain price of only $199,000.
Of course, what the photo didn't show was the small word after the $199,000. That word, barely legible if you squint at the photo, is "down." Asking price for the still-under-construction building as of this writing? $950,000.
The property is next to the new police and fire building at Bridgeway and Johnson St., and the sign is aimed at the Bridgeway traffic coming into town from the north. Somewhere, we imagine, P.T. Barnum is smiling and thinking about what HE would have done with the Internet!
