July 25 Benefit Party to Assist Neighbor Displaced by Sausalito Houseboat Fire

Date & Time: Saturday, July 25, 2009 7:30 PM

Place: 305 Harbor Dr., Sausalito (across the parking lot from Fish; see map below)

Cost: $20 donation at the door.

Dress: Pirate costumes encouraged, but not required.

The Sausalito Floating Homes community is coming together on Saturday, July 25 to help members of the community who were displaced by the June 25th fire on Liberty Dock. And they’re inviting all of Sausalito to party with them!

No, the poster at left is not for this event, it’s from one of the same musicians doing a Sausalito benefit 37 years ago in 1972, and the handbill was on sale at Wolfgang’s Vault for $225.00. (At least the old one I had and tossed is priced at only $95…)

Now that I’ve given historical context for this musical event, we’ll get back to the present. In the 2009 version there will be food, drinks, music by Joe Tate of the aforementioned Red Legs and other musicians, and a silent auction.

Facilities for this event have generously been donated by Steve Egri, so the money raised will go directly to helping our neighbors.
