The announcement we received from ICB included the following bio for Ms. Brooks:
"Artist Catherine Brooks worked as a Master Printer in the Crown Point Press studio for over 7 years. During her tenure at the Press, she led numerous artist projects, in which she helped the guest artist realize and create a new body of work in etching. At Crown Point, Ms. Brooks has worked with such artists as Wayne Thiebaud, Nathan Olivera, Robert Bechtle, Pat Stier, Mary Heilman and most recently, Chris Ofili. Prior to working at Crown Point Press, Catherine studied non-toxic intaglio processes at Evergreen State College. After graduating, she found her métier in etching while working as an apprentice in the studio of French Master of Art René Tazé, in Paris, France. In 2007 Catherine’s “How-To” book on etching was published, Magical Secrets about Line Etching and Engraving The Step-by-Step Art of Incised Lines. Since the release of her book, Catherine has enjoyed teaching workshops around the globe and continues her own creative practices in painting and yoga."
