How does a children's museum communicate the concept of the fact that cultures around the world are very different from our own? By giving kids a hands-on experience, which is exactly the style of the Bay Area Discovery Museum.

Kids will get the chance to sample everyday activities from family life in Namgzhou, a traditionally rural city changing into a modern urban center. They can write Chinese symbols, cook with a Chinese grandmother, explore computer games, plant rice, and take a turn as performers in a traditional Chinese opera!
