Celebrated local photographer Bruce Forrester just happened to live near the Sausalito houseboat community during the tumultuous period of the late 1970’s. Taking photographs of places and moments near his home produced a series of images that have provided an enduring chronicle of that time.
The exhibit’s opening event Monday night will kick off a summer run in the Sausalito Historical Society room at City Hall on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
Forrester’s photography resides in the permanent collection of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and has been displayed in the Focus Gallery, the Marin Civic Center, in Hawaii at the Village Gallery (the oldest gallery in the Hawaiian Islands) and at the Metropolitan Gallery.
