Just Out: Only 15 Tickets for Each of Four Sausalito Chef’s Series Hands-On Events
We wanted to rush this announcement to the Members of OurSausalito.com because there are only 15 tickets available for each of the four events in the Sausalito Chef’s series this year. It’s a brilliant concept and sounds like a ton of fun.
Sponsored by the Sausalito Parks and Recreation Department, the Sausalito Chef’s Series features a different loca l restaurant each month where the kitchen is led by a prominent Sausalito chef.
Each chef designs his or her own program, but the central idea is that the experience doesn’t begin and end at your table in the dining room. Instead, you’ll start the event by joining the chef in the kitchen for a cooking demonstration or the hands-on creation of a dish. You get to go behind the scenes and understand at a whole new level the unique personal characteristics of each chef’s style, and you’re on the inside during the preparation of the meal.
This year the program also helps the community, since the price of each Golden Ticket (our phrase, not the City’s!) includes a $10 donation to the Fourth of July Fireworks Fund.
Why do we call them “Golden Tickets”? Because space is limited to the first 15 people who register for each restaurant. Here’s the schedule, and note the widely different starting times:
May 19th at 7:00 PM — Saylor’s Restaurant and Bar, the latest incarnation of a long Sausalito culinary tradition and a local favorite.
June 2nd at 4:30 PM — ITK Culinary, the school of cuisine and the kitchen behind the success of the food menu next door at Wellington’s Wine Bar.
August 11th at 10:00 AM — The Spinnaker, a Sausalito classic.
September 29th at 7:00 PM — Angelino’s Restaurant, authentic Italian food from a great Sausalito restaurant family.
You can register for each restaurant individually for $45 per person for residents ($52 for non-residents), or subscribe to the entire Sausalito Chef’s Series of four events for $160 per person for residents ($170 for non-residents). Because of the lead time required for bringing in high quality ingredients and foods, no refunds are available for cancelations made within two weeks of the date of each event.
You can buy tickets by calling the Sausalito Parks and Recreation Department at (415) 289-4152
If you have a foodie friend, make sure they hear about this one while tickets are still available. Bon appetit!
