There is some visitor parking on the street just uphill from the park — these neighborhood playgrounds are located within walking distance of many Sausalito neighborhoods and are designed for families to come on foot rather than by car. South View Park
A half city block in size, South View Park has something for everyone: a basketball court, a tennis court, a playground for the kids and spectacular views of the Bay and San Francisco. Sausalito’s most urban park, it’s build on terraces on a (very) steep hillside.
On hot days its lack of trees make it very warm, but more often the Hurrican Gulch winds will blow fog just above your head. requiring a jacket. With two editors having lived within two blocks of this park, you can trust us when we say “Bring both a heavy coat and sunscreen!”
