Sausalito Stories
An Online Literary Magazine
Welcome to Sausalito StoriesTM, our BenefictionTM based online literary magazine, which launched in July, 2009. Every poem, article and story you’ll find here is by a Sausalito author or is set in Sausalito.
Scribd Instructions: We’re now sharing our online magazine through Scribd, which is easier to read on screen and allows you to download, print and email copies. Clicking the link for an issue will open the Scribd window with the text. Click on the expand icon at upper right to see the entire page, or the full screen icon (kind of like a US flag) to go to full screen. You can use the magnifying glass to adjust the text size.
Issues
October, 2009 — We’re proud to feature an excerpt from the upcoming book, “The Last Voyage of the Redlegs“ by Sausalito writer and musician Joe Tate. Tate’s narrative of the birth of the fabled local band The Redlegs and the Sausalito waterfront conflicts of the 1970’s is a fascinating trip back to a controversial time of generational and cultural confrontation. Tate shares his viewpoint on Sausalito history as an active participant, and punctuates it with color photographs from the period. One of the headliners who donated their time at the recent fundraiser to help people who lost their homes in the summer houseboat fire, Tate’s performances continue to appear regularly on our Sausalito Calendar.
July, 2009 — Featuring Barge Right In, a Sausalito mystery by Riette Gallienne, based on real recent events in Sausalito. When a gigantic barge and crane appear on the Sausalito waterfront, is something more than construction going on? (Story length: About 10 typical paperback pages, plus bonus content.)
