Sausalito Chamber of Commerce
The Sausalito Chamber of Commerce works to enhance the business climate and community in Sausalito. Although some local residents may see them as visitor-focused, much of the Sausalito Chamber of Commerce’s work is aimed at all Sausalito businesses, not just those involved in travel and hospitality. Less than half of the Chamber’s members are directly or indirectly in tourism-related businesses.
Editorial Opinion: As you can see, I’m a fan of the Sausalito Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors. They have a balanced view that supports the health of the entire community as well as the success of the business community. I’ve been involved with a Chamber in another setting and left the organization after they demonstrated a parochial dedication to growing the businesses in the area rather than trying to benefit the community at large by growing businesses in that context. The Sausalito Chamber of Commerce has consistently looked at the big pictur economic health of our community, not just the narrow needs of its members.
I think that just about every Sausalito business would benefit from joining the Chamber, since their educational programs alone are like business school classes for busy professionals. Quite simply, the Chamber can help most Sausalito business owners to operate more efficiently, which can more than pay for the low annual dues. Making friends with other local business people is a nice plus.

Monthly “Biz X’ Meetings and other events where people can learn from experts about how best to build their businesses.
Mixers where members have a chance to meet each other and make new friends.
Weekly B2B email newsletters with information about opportunities and events in town.
The Chamber Guide and Directory, which they distribute to 6,000 households and 1,000 businesses in Sausalito each year.
The Sausalito Visitor’s Map, where businesses can be featured on a beautiful map given out to 100,000 potential customers a year.
Advertising and participation in annual Community events, like the Gingerbread House Tour, 12 Days of Christmas, Concierge Tour and many others.
