Insiders Tip: Is the restaurant named Sandrino or San Drino? The logo makes it look like the name is “San Drino” but it really is “Sandrino.” We asked the owners to make sure! The name comes from a childhood nickname for the husband side of the husband-and-wife team.
Insiders Tip: Check out our special page on Parking Near Caledonia St. Without Getting a Ticket. It explains how to avoid the no-parking zones that catch some visitors by surprise.

Sandrino
Sandrino opened in Sausalito in September, 2015, occupying the space formerly occupied by Rossetti Pizzeria. The restaurant has Italian owners committed to authentic food and flavors. As you can see, they have racked up an impressive collection of OurSausalito.com dining trophies on the chart above, first winning the coveted “Most Highly Rated” position in Summer, 2017.
Service here is warm and friendly, and you’ll be interacting directly with the owners. Chefs Alessandro and Monika moved to Sausalito from Trento, Italy in 2015, and I can only imagine how tough it was for a married couple to work through all the challenges of the pandemic and the economic problems that have followed it. Despite all these problems, they welcome you warmly each time you walk through the door, regardless of whether you’re new or a regular. Both the pizza and the other Italian dishes are excellent.
They also have a nice variety of wines and beers.
Insiders Tip: If they have the lasagna bolognese when you go in and you enjoy that dish, tyhis will be one of the best examples you’ve ever had.
