Insiders Tip: Bridgeway, Sausalito’s only major artery, changes its name several times as you pass through the southern end of town, although it all feels like one road with a few twists. One of those twists results in the street we think of as Bridgeway being called 2nd St. for a few blocks, including the location of Aurora Restaurant.

Aurora Restaurant
One of the friendliest restaurants in town on many evenings, Aurora Restaurant took over the building that previously housed Cacciucco near the southern edge of Sausalito. The Italian menu includes items you won’t find all over town. The staff have worked at building relationships with the community, and we’re particular fans of their different steak specials and the lightly breaded calamari steak. For all of you Jeopardy (Sausalito Edition) players out there, Aurora Restaurant is the correct answer to the question: “What’s the first restaurant you reach inside Sausalito city limits if you bike across the Golden Gate Bridge en route to the Ferry or if you walk from the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito?”
