Fisherman’s Wharf, Pier 39 & Alcatraz Parking for the Ferries
The Alcatraz Cruises ferries depart from Pier 33 at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. (See Map Below) This area is close to Pier 39, so there’s lots of Alcatraz parking within a few blocks of Pier 33.
The Sausalito Ferry from the Blue and Gold Fleet departs from Pier 41, next to Pier 39. The ferries from Golden Gate Ferry depart from the Ferry Building in San Francisco.
Insiders Tip: One lot for Alcatraz parking might cost you $10 a day while another costs $6 an hour, which could mean $30 for parking for a visit to Alcatraz. Give yourself time to drive around the area to find a less expensive lot so you don’t feel pressured to park at the first place you see.
Insiders Tip: Pier 39 at Fisherman’s Wharf has a big but expensive parking garage, but neither Alcatraz Cruises nor Blue and Gold Fleet (the latter of which is headquartered there) validates parking. The more expensive restaurants at Pier 39 do validate, but just for the normal duration of a meal. That won’t offset the parking cost for a long excursion to Alcatraz.
We’ve highlighted a number of Alcatraz parking lot options on the Google Map below. Click on a pin for the address, contact info and link for that parking lot or garage. You can zoom in or out and scroll the map as well.
