Murray Circle
Murray Circle started life with the avowed goal of being the highest Michelin-rated restaurant in the area, a goal that was achieved within its first year in the 2008 Michelin announcements and reconfirmed in 2009 through 2011.
The key to deciding on Murray Circle is to understand if it is targeted at your tastes. This is one of the most expensive places to eat in Sausalito. As a restaurant that is aiming to please the gourmet tastes of food fans, Murray Circle is a big draw for high-end diners and the “eat like a judge on Iron Chef America” audience, and gets high ratings from this group. On the other hand, it can be off-target for people who are looking for larger servings and less expensiove prices. You don’t have to order the prix fixe menu however — the burger is not only a less expensive choice but also one of the best you’re likely to have anywhere in town.
Situated across from the Farley Bar within the elegant and exclusive Cavallo Point Lodge complex in Fort Baker in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) the front porch dining area has a magnificent view of the Bay and the tops of the towers of the Golden Gate Bridge. In our last two visits we had one server who seemed aloof (some might even say snooty), and another who was charming, considerate and gave us absolutely fabulous service.
Something else that people should know about Murray Circle? If Huey Lewis bought Murray Circle would he rename it Murray Square, so it would be more hip? Disagree with any of our suggestions? Please let us know!
