Il Piccolo Cafe (Closed)
Il Piccolo Cafe (not to be confused with the now-closed Il Piccolo Teatro, which did a beautiful remodel on an historic Sausalito building) has a wonderful location with outdoor seating right on the edge of the Bay(though, as noted above, these seats are open to the public at any time whether you’re a restaurant patron or not). On a beautiful day it rivals the deck at The Trident as a great place to sit. We love the idea of a glass of wine here after lunch or before dinner and soaking in the great weather. Sausalito, however, has several truly wonderful Italian restaurants. When it comes to food, we prefer places like Angelino (across the street), Scoma’s (next door), Aurora (three blocks to the south), or Poggio (a long block north on Bridgeway).
Insiders Tip: If it’s a nice day and you want to sit outside, use Il Piccolo Caffe as the big-view bar before going to dinner along the Bridgeway Promenade, downtown or on Caledonia St. Start here with a glass of wine and appreciate the view, then walk over to your restaurant for a great dinner.
