The fourth annual Sausalito Documentary Film Series, held at the Sausalito Library, begins on January 26th and will run for four consecutive Fridays. The films showcased are all either about Sausalito or made by a Sausalito resident. Admission is free, but seating is limited, so arrive early. For further information, please click HERE. Turning the Tide: Saving Richardson Bay (2006, 60 minutes)

This film tells the story of one of the most important events in the history of Richardson Bay, the dramatic community effort to block an enormous 2000-home development called Reeds Port. It also covers the history and conservation of the Lyford House, and the story of Tiburon’s “Goat Lady”, Rose Verrall, who donated the land on which the Richardson Bay Audubon Center sits. Filmmaker David Gotz will be in attendance to answer any questions after the screening.
Paying the Price for Peace (2016, 97 minutes)

Through Air Force veteran S. Brian Willson’s harrowing experience while serving in Vietnam, this award-winning film shines light upon a world-wide anti-war movement in the hope of exposing an “addiction” that the United States’ has to war. This film is edited by Sausalito’s Susan Utell and Bay Area producer-director Bo Boudart, with appearances by Martin Sheen and Daniel Ellsberg. Susan will be in attendance and happy to answer questions after the screening.
Sausalito Seekers (2017, 69 minutes)

Following his classic Sausalito waterfront story, Last Free Ride, Saul Rouda delves deeper into the houseboat community, flushing out the nasty, the sublime, and touching on the existential. Also featured will be the 20-minute short, Waldo Point, along with film portraits of the “good old days.” Saul will be in attendance to introduce the films and answer any questions from the audience.
A Tribute to Larry Moyer

An artist, filmmaker, and photographer, Larry Moyer was a solid fixture on the Sausalito waterfront for over forty years. This tribute features clips of interviews and past performances, including a scene from his 1963 beatnik classic, The Moving Finger. Moyer passed away in 2016 at the age of 92. His good friend, Kayla Kahn, will be in attendance to introduce the film. Sharing memories of Larry is encouraged after the screening.
