The Story on the Rumored Return of Valhalla

Your reporters here at OurSausalito.com broke the story last week that a sign had appeared on the door of the shuttered Gaylord's building promising that Sally Stanford's Valhalla Inn was returning to its historic spot.

OK, if you read the post you can see we waxed poetic a little, but you get the point!

We did some further research and here's what's up: The building owner has gotten permission to do some small interior modifications to enhance the building's use, a permit that is also posted on the door.

No other permits have been requested from the City of Sausalito or filed with any city departments, so this is a very early stage proposal.

Why the sign on the front door? Feels like the kind of trial balloon designed to get the Sausalito fans excited (it worked) and to see if the Old Town neighborhood will support or oppose the project.
